As the sustainability field continues to develop, companies are being asked to respond to a growing number of investor, customer and client surveys and detailed questionnaires. G&A helps clients use surveys to gain competitive advantage.
G&A specializes in helping clients respond to popular annual questionnaires such as CDP (formerly the Carbon Disclosure Project), S&P Global’s Corporate Sustainability Assessment (CSA), and supply chain surveys (such as those managed by EcoVadis on behalf of major customers). Effective responses to these surveys are comprehensive, time consuming, and at times quite complex. We’re here to inform and support your team’s response throughout the entire process to make the effort more complete, accurate, efficient and effective.
G&A has developed proprietary systems and processes to make responding to surveys easier for our clients. Our experienced analysts work to identify and close gaps, provide peer benchmarking and research, and ultimately create a comprehensive response to ensure achieving the maximum score possible for the company.
G&A has created fine-tuned methodologies to support responses to S&P Global's Corporate Sustainability Assessment (CSA) and identify areas for improvement. This engagement is a two-stage process beginning with a comprehensive gap analysis of opportunities to strategically improve the upcoming CSA response, and then support through the annual CSA response period.
The CSA questionnaire is known for assessing companies for inclusion on the Dow Jones Sustainability Index (DJSI). Responses are also utilized by various S&P Global units for scoring and ranking, including S&P ESG ratings (provided on the CapitalIQ terminal for institutional investors); the S&P ESG indices (S&P 500 ESG, S&P Global 1200 ESG); and for credit risk analysis, which may affect a company’s credit rating, access to capital, and cost of capital.
G&A has a track record of maintaining clients’ inclusion on the DJSI and helping to continuously enhance their scores, as well as supporting companies in responding to the CSA for the first time – who have then achieved inclusion on the DJSI for the first time.
G&A has tried-and-true tools and methodologies to support and improve company responses to the CDP (formerly the Carbon Disclosure Project) Climate Change questionnaire. With our assistance, our clients consistently stay ahead of the pack on their CDP scores. We provide highly targeted advice and recommendations informed by our comprehensive understanding of the CDP scoring methodology.
Over the years, reporting on climate change strategies and greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions has become more of an expected practice for corporations. Companies are seeing many more requests to share their CDP responses with their clients and investors. Google Finance now lists CDP scores for each company.
Many companies are striving to demonstrate leadership through increased supply chain management visibility that includes surveying their suppliers. But the surveys can be time-intensive to complete, with complex methodologies and limited public disclosure to guide the responder.
G&A has experience responding to EcoVadis and other supply chain surveys. Our methodology includes developing a comprehensive response, guiding clients in best practices, informing strategy, and estimating the final score.
